Samsung slider for AT&T isn't actually a Galaxy S II variant

Remember that mysterious Samsung Android slider for AT&T that leaked out earlier this week? Initially it was reported that that device could be a variant of the Samsung Galaxy S II, but now it sounds like that may not be the case. According to BGR, which originally claimed that the slider would be a Galaxy S II device, the mystery slider isn't actually a GSII spinoff. The good news? This device is reportedly due to launch "soon."

So there you have it. This Samsung slider may not be a Galaxy S II variant, but it still looks like a decent little smartphone, especially for those of you on AT&T that prefer the tactility that a physical QWERTY keyboard brings to the table. Exactly how "soon" the i927 will be released is still up in the air, but you can be sure we'll let you know more when we do. Which upcoming AT&T Samsung device do you all think you'd prefer? The full-touch Galaxy S II (which could be the device seen in this update) or this keyboard-packin' handset?
