Verizon announces a new batch of 4G LTE markets going live on August 18th [UPDATED]

Was your city not a part of Verizon's recent 4G LTE network expansion? Well we've got some good news for you today, as Verizon just announced that its planning to expand its 4G network once again on August 18th. The current list of markets going live looks like this:

  • Tucson, Ariz., including the areas between Interstate 10 and Harrison Road, north to Sunrise Drive, and south to Valencia Road, including the Tucson International Airport.
  • Bakersfield, Calif., including downtown Bakersfield, Delano, Shafter, and Greenfield and Highway 99 from Bakersfield to Delano.
  • Salinas and Monterey, Calif., including Salinas, Monterey, Seaside, Marina, and Soledad.
  • Ft. Collins, Colo., including the areas from Vine Drive in the north to 57th Street in the south and County Road 5 in the east to Horsetooth Reservoir in the west.
  • Frederick, Md., including Monrovia, Urbana, Green Valley, Holly Hills, and Futura.
  • Greater Worchester area of Mass., including Auburn, Berlin, Bolton, Charlton, Grafton, Harvard, Holden, Hopedale, Leicester, Millbury, Milford, Northborough, Oxford, Paxton, Shrewsbury, Southborough, Sterling,, West Boylston, Westborough, and Worcester.
  • Omaha, Neb., which includes the greater Omaha-Council Bluffs, Iowa area and the area west of Omaha along the Interstate 80 corridor to Ashland.
  • Albany, N.Y.
  • Captial Region, N.Y.
  • Ithaca, N.Y.
  • Syracuse, N.Y.
  • Columbus, Ohio, including Arena District, Blendon Woods, Duxberry Park, Easton, Linworth, and Schiller Park.
  • Johnstown and Altoona, Pa., including the areas from Johnstown along U.S. routes 219 and 22 toward Altoona, plus Interstate 99 from Hollidaysburg to the Centre County border.
  • Memphis, Tenn.
  • Provo/Orem, Utah, including the cities of Provo, Orem, Highland, Lehi, and Lindon as well as the areas in Utah County from the Salt Lake County line south to Highway 77.

Verizon is also planning to expand its existing 4G LTE coverage in the following areas:

  • MetroWest communities in Mass., including Ashland, Bellingham, Dover, Foxborough, Franklin, Holliston, Hopkinton, Hudson, Lincoln, Marlborough, Maynard, Medfield, Medway, Millis, Norfolk, Plainville, Sharon, Sherborn, Stow, Sudbury, Tyngsborough, Walpole, Wayland, West Bridgewater, Westford, and Wrentham.
  • Nyack, West Nyack, Orangeburg, Pearl River and Spring Valley, N.J., including areas like Rockland County south of Interstate 287.
  • Cincinnati, Ohio, including areas such as Hamilton, Eastgate/Batavia, Lebanon, and Middletown.
  • Columbus, Ohio, including Arena District, Blendon Woods, Duxberry Park, Easton, Linworth, and Schiller Park.
  • Salt Lake City, Utah metro area

If you don't see your hometown on the list above, don't fret. Verizon has been known to announce more cities as we get closer to the expansion date, and we'll be sure to keep you informed of any more newly-minted 4G markets as we find them.
