Another morning, another photo of an Nokia N9-like device running a different mobile OS. That's right, following Nokia's reveal of the MeeGo-powered N9 and the leak of the Sea Ray Windows Phone device, images of a handset that looks just like the N9 have appeared again. This time, though, it's running Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Is it the real deal? The source of the images has leaked Nokia devices in the past, so it's entirely possible that this is a real device that Nokia decided to try out at one point or another. The higher-resolution that leads to the smaller on-screen icons could also be a good indicator that this is a real Nokia test device, as Engadget points out, especially because an Android screenshot with regular icons would be much easier to fake.
Since we'll likely never actually see a Nokia device running Android come to market, this'll be the closest we ever come to getting our hands on the little green robot on Nokia hardware. So now that we've seen exactly what Android on a Nokia device looks like, anyone wish that the Finnish firm had cozied up with Google rather than Microsoft? Also: anyone care to take a guess at which mobile OS we'll see on a Nokia device next? Perhaps webOS?
