There's been an awful lot of chatter over the past few days concerning Verizon's upcoming move to tiered data, including details on pricing and whether or not grandfathered unlimited data customers will get to keep their plans when the time comes to upgrade. Today we've got what seems to be confirmation of all of the intricacies of Verizon's new data plans in the form of a leak sent to Android Central. As you can see in the image above, pricing will be set at $30/2GB, $50/5GB, or $80/10GB with overage fees of $10 per GB. Those options apply to both 3G and 4G smartphones. For those of you that'd like to add Mobile Hotspot to the mix, you can expect to pay an additional $20 per month for 2GB of data. Finally, anyone that's signed up for unlimited data before July 7th will be able to hold on to that plan after the changes take effect, even when upgrading to a new handset. It's not known when or if that policy may change.
It's definitely a bummer to see that the end of unlimited data on Verizon is nigh, although we all kind of knew that this was coming soon. The good news is that anyone that's already on an unlimited plan will be grandfathered in, even when moving on up to a new device. For those of you that aren't yet on unlimited data that would like to be, you've got around 16 days to sign up for the plan before these changes take place. Better get going!
