Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference kicks off in a little over a week and, since it's looking likely that it'll be strictly a software show, there is going to be even more of a focus on iOS 5, which is expected to make its grand debut at the event. So what exactly can we expect to see in the latest and greatest version of Apple's mobile operating system? According to a report from TechCrunch, iOS 5 will include "completely revamped notifications and widgets." What it may not include, though, is support for Nuance's voice recognition technology in the Voice Control app. TechCrunch claims that the tech is expected to be "fully baked" into iOS 5, but the current test builds of the OS that are floating around show a Voice Control app that's completely unchanged. Of course, that could very well change by the time iOS 5 is released later this year.
We've been hearing rumblings that Apple would be retooling the iOS notification system in the fifth major version of the operating system, especially after a report emerged earlier this year claiming that Apple was planning to snap up a development firm to aid in the make over. News that widgets may also make the cut into iOS 5 is pretty awesome, although we're still in the dark about how they might work.
