HTC Eternity and Omega feature 1.5GHz processors, Windows Phone 7?

We've heard whispers that HTC is prepping a high-end Windows Phone 7 smartphone codenamed "Bresson" with a 16-megapixel camera, but a new report is claiming that the Bresson may not be the only beefy WP7 phone that HTC has in the works. According to a source speaking with WMPowerUser, HTC's planning to release two new smartphones, codenamed Eternity and Omega, sometime in the future. What kinds of specs do these rumored devices have? Glad you asked:

  • HTC Eternity: 4.7-inch AMOLED display, 1.5GHz processor, wide-angle 8-megapixel camera with LED flash, DLNA, microHDMI output, and Windows Phone 7.5 "Mango"
  • HTC Omega: 3.8-inch SLCD display, 1.5GHz processor, wide-angle 8-megapixel camera with LED flash, DLNA, Windows Phone 7.5 "Mango"

Obviously those are some pretty high-end specs, especially the Eternity's 4.7-inch AMOLED display, which sounds ridiculous and awesome at the same time. Of course, it's worth mentioning that there's no hard evidence, like a trademark filing for the names "Eternity" and "Omega," to back up the tipster's claims. That may just be because these devices are still very early in the development stage, though. another thing worth pointing out is that we don't often see HTC use an AMOLED display in its products anymore, as the firm usually opts for SLCDs in its devices. It did include an AMOLED display in the Legend, though, so seeing another HTC phone with an AMOLED display may not be completely out of the question. We'll be keeping an eye out for more details on the Eternity and Omega going forward, so be sure to stay tuned.
