The Motorola DROID X2 has leaked more times than we care to keep track of, but this morning a new set of images of the device appeared that may be more significant than ones we've seen in the past. Why is that, you ask? Well, the fact that they're a batch of press shots suggests that a launch could be just around the corner. We're also finally treated to a shot of the X2's logo in these images, which shows that the device could be known as the DROID X², aka X-squared, rather than DROID X2 when it does arrive.
Although I'm sure some folks, like our own Aaron Baker, will be a little disappointed that the only change made to the DROID X successor's body was the removal of the physical camera key, all of the upgrades Moto made to the X2's internals should more than make up for that. For example, it's rumored that the X2 will sport a 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor and 768MB of RAM, up from the original model's 1GHz single-core CPU and 512MB of RAM. Whether those changes will be enough to convince folks to pony up $199.99 for the DROID X2 is tough to say, but it doesn't look like we'll have to wait long to find out.
