HTC DROID Incredible 2 demo units and retail packaging appear in Verizon store, Casio G'zOne Commando along for the ride

Although the HTC DROID Incredible 2 is still without an official release date, the evidence that it's coming on April 28th seems to grow every day. The latest bits of proof emerged earlier today, as the folks at Droid-Life have posted images showing that DInc 2 demo units are arriving in Verizon stores along with what very well may be the device's official retail packaging. The Incredible 2 didn't arrive alone, though, as demo units of the Casio G'zOne Commando, which also happens to be arriving next Thursday, also popped into at least one of Big Red's brick and mortar locations. If you're at all interested in the Commando, you'll be happy to know that a full spec list for the device has also leaked. When the ruggedized Android phone launches next week, you can expect it to sport the following features:

  • 3.6-inch 800x480 display
  • 5-megapixel camera with flash
  • 8GB microSD card preinstalled
  • Meets military standards 810G, meaning it can withstand immersion, rain, vibration, salt fog, humidity, solar radiation, altitude, low and high temps, and is shock and dust resistant
  • Mobile Hotspot with support for up to five devices
  • 1460mAh battery
  • Android 2.2

It's kind of surprising that Verizon already announced the Samsung DROID Charge and its launch date of April 28th but it hasn't yet made a peep about either the DROID Incredible 2, which some might argue has the potential to be a much bigger device. Luckily, we've already got most all of the info on the DInc 2 already, including its price, so now we just have to wait for Big Red to go ahead and make it all nice and official, which should happen sometime early next week. Who's getting excited?!
