Motorola DROID X to be graced with Gingerbread on May 10th?

A little over a week ago, there were rumors that Motorola and Verizon had finally begun rolling Android 2.3 out to the DROID X. Unfortunately, it ended up just being a newly-leaked build of Gingerbread, but according to Droid-Life, we may not be that far off from actually seeing the official build pushed out. The site has heard that testers were given the DROID X's build of 2.3 last week, and that May 10th could be the day that the update is finally released to regular folks like you and me.

Additionally, Droid-Life has heard that Wirefly could be kicking off pre-orders of the HTC DROID Incredible 2 tonight at midnight, with the devices actually shipping on the 28th like we've reported in the past.

Finally, the site has posted a document claiming that the ruggedized Casio G'zOne Commando will be launching on the 28th, alongside the DInc 2 and possibly the Samsung DROID Charge.

Considering that we've already seen a couple of leaked DROID X Gingerbread builds hit the Internet, it wouldn't be surprising to see the official version rolled out sometime in the near future. Whether or not that'll actually happen on May 10th is tough to say for sure right now, but the way things are shaping up, it certainly seems like the update can't be too far off. We'll keep you updated.
