Motorola DROID X Gingerbread update not coming next week after all?

Yesterday a rumor claimed that the Motorola DROID X could be updated to Android 2.3 as soon as next week, but now it looks like DX owners may still be left wondering where their Gingerbread is when March 28th rolls around. According to @PydePypper on Twitter, the Gingerbread build that was set to roll out next week was rejected by Verizon, so now it must go back to Moto to endure fixes that could delay the DX's 2.3 launch by around another month or so.

There's no telling when Verizon and Motorola will come together to roll Android 2.3 out to the DROID X, but I wouldn't be surprised if the DX was one of the first handsets in Big Red's lineup to see Gingerbread. Hang tight, DXers, and we'll keep you updated as we learn more.
