Samsung Infuse 4G gets the FCC stamp of approval

Samsung saw fit to push a few new handsets through the FCC at the tail-end of last week, and now they've decided to kick off their Monday with another FCC appearance. This time, we've got the SGH-I997, better known as the Samsung Infuse 4G for AT&T. The Infuse was originally unveiled back at CES, but neither Sammy nor AT&T has given up a release date on the device. Now that it's appeared in the FCC, though, information on an official launch date shouldn't be too far off (we hope).

With a whopping 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display and super-thin body, the Infuse 4G has a lot of good specs going for it. Some users may be disappointed at the handset's lack of dual-core CPU goodness, but I bet that the Infuse's 1.2GHz Hummingbird core will be able to handle just about anything that's thrown at it. The only question is, will the Infuse 4G have its HSUPA capabilities crippled like its brethren, the Atrix 4G and Inspire 4G?
