Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 won't be delayed because of iPad 2

Recently, one Samsung exec said that the new Apple iPad made parts of the Galaxy 10.1 look "inadequate," pointing out the iPad's thinness and price, specifically. That led some to believe that Sammy would delay the Tab 10.1 to make changes to the device, but the company has come forward and said that it hasn't been pushed back. Samsung EVP Lee Don-Joo, the same employee that made the "inadequate" statement, recently said that the Tab 10.1 has not been delayed and that they'll "continue to make every effort to provide the most powerful, well-designed and productive mobile device to customers."

If you were hoping for a thinner Galaxy Tab 10.1 after Mr. Don-Joo's statements, it doesn't sound like that'll be happening, although that's probably for the better. After all, the XOOM is already available and the iPad 2 and PlayBook are all coming soon, so it's wise for Samsung to get their tablet in the market as soon as possible. That doesn't mean that Sammy's not reworking their pricing for the 10.1, though, but we'll have to wait for an official announcement to find out what they've got planned on that front.
