Nokia might have recently adopted Windows Phone 7, but that doesn't mean that they can't still do a little tweaking to Symbian, too. The photo you see above was snapped at a recent event in China and is a Nokia N8 with what appears to be a slightly revamped UI for Symbian. You can see a status bar up top with some bits of information like time, battery, etc., as well as some soft keys at the bottom of the display. The widgets on the home screen appear to have gotten a fresh coat of paint, too, giving everything a bit of an Android look and feel.
There aren't many details about the new Symbian UI besides what we can glean from the photo above, but the changes are certainly welcome. Nokia didn't give up any info on when we can expect to see these changes rolled out to end users, but since they were shown off on an N8, it seems likely that they'll eventually be included as part of some sort of software update later on down the road. It'd certainly be a nice way to enhance Symbian before Nokia begins going full-on Windows Phone 7.
