Microsoft pulls Windows Phone 7 update for Samsung devices

A couple of days ago, we heard news that Microsoft was pushing out a pre-update update to prep Windows Phone 7 devices for the much-anticipated NoDo, which is set to arrive next month. Not everything has gone smoothly for the owners of Samsung's WP7 handsets, though, as there are widespread reports that the small update has been failing or, in some cases, even bricking the devices. In response, Microsoft has yanked the update for Sammy's products, explaining that they're currently working on a fix and will redistribute the upgrade to the cut/paste-starved users as soon as possible.

Originally the problematic update was thought to only affect the Omnia 7, which isn't available here in the U.S., but there are some reports that Focus owners are having issues as well. Whichever Samsung WP7 device you've got, it's probably wise to avoid the small upgrade for now. We'll let you know when Microsoft makes the revised update available. Have any of you Focus owners out there had problems with the preparatory update?
