We've seen rumored pricing for just several of the LTE devices that Verizon has in the pipeline, including the ThunderBolt and DROID Bionic, but the question on everyone's mind is just how much the data plan for the phones will be. Sprint's been charging users an extra $10 per month for 4G data (and more recently, for any data at all), but it doesn't appear that VZW will be following their lead, at least not initially. According to two sources speaking to Droid-Life, Verizon plans to launch an unlimited LTE data plan for $29.99 per month, the same price as their 3G plan. However, it's extremely likely that that will change once their 4G network goes nationwide. Additionally, tipsters speaking to the site claim that the ThunderBolt will land on February 24th, which jibes with what we heard earlier today.
If this news is true, it could be pretty awesome for those of us that are covered by Verizon's LTE network or will be in the near future. As for when the plan is changed, I wouldn't be shocked to see Big Red tack on another $10 for unlimited 4G data, especially considering that Sprint has been doing that for some time now. If $40 sounds a bit much to you, we've heard that Verizon is planning speed-based data plans, so that's definitely something to look out for. So, how does the idea of unlimited LTE data for $30 a month sound to all of you?
