HTC introduced a few new handsets at CES, like the ThunderBolt and Inspire 4G, but a new leak suggests that they've got several new, different-looking handsets waiting in the wings. The folks over at Pocketnow have managed to get their hands on several renders of what could be upcoming Android handsets from HTC, and boy are they exciting. First up is the device on the far left, which may be the company's new flagship phone. Looking a lot like a Nexus One/Desire HD combo, the phone's display looks to be around 3.7 inches, and there's what appears to be a front-facing camera sitting next to the earpiece.
Second in line is a device that looks to me like a mashup of an Aria and a Nexus One. There's a good ol' trackball beneath the capacitive navigation keys, and if you squint hard enough, there appears to be a front-facing camera near the silver earpiece. The display looks like it's similar to the Aria's, meaning that it's probably 3.2 inches in size.
Finally we have what's likely the most low-end of the three phones, although it's being described as a mid-range Android handset. This device, like the Aria mashup next to it, includes a feature that you don't see often in smartphones anymore, especially with Android: physical send and end keys. There's also an optical trackball present in between the send and end keys and what looks to be a very small screen, possibly in the 3.0-inch range. Finally, there's a front-facing camera up top, just like the other two phones.
While I'm really excited about the new HTC flagship phone, especially because I still adore the look of the Nexus One, I like that HTC may be bringing back stuff like a real trackball and physical send and end keys to some of their new Android phones. Sure, that's the kind of stuff that you don't need to see with every device, but it's great to see them included every now and then. As you can probably tell, there's not a lot known about these devices beyond what we can learn from looking at the renders, but with Mobile World Congress only a few weeks away, I wouldn't be surprised if we learn a lot more sooner rather than later.
