New iPad 2 cases reveal two mysterious new cutouts

There have been more leaks surrounding iPad 2 cases than we can keep track of, and this morning there's been some revised cases making the rounds. The folks at AppleInsider and MIC Gadget both found images of new cases that reveal new openings not seen in previous leaks. While no one knows for sure what the new cutouts are for, the speculation is that the port on the left site opposite the volume controls is for the SD card slot, while the opening on the top could be for a Mini DisplayPort connection.

We've heard before that the SD slot would be placed at the bottom of the iPad 2 next to the dock connector, but I think that that makes more sense as a speaker port. The upper left corner seems like kind of a strange place for an SD card slot (I think placing it on the side of the dock connector opposite of the speaker would be ideal), but as long as an SD slot makes it in at all, I'll be happy. The possible inclusion of a Mini DisplayPort is an interesting choice, especially considering their huge push for AirPlay, but I'm sure some people will be happy to be able to hook their iPads up with a wired connection. We're likely going to see some more iPad 2 cases leak before the device's expected April launch, so stay tuned!
