LG said to be readying a Honeycomb tablet for debut at CES

LG has said in the past that they would wait for a tablet-friendly version of Android before releasing their own entry into the tablet market.  Now that Honeycomb is coming fast, can we finally expect to see LG push out their device?  According to the Korea Times, yes.  The publication is reporting that LG will debut an 8.9-inch Honeycomb tablet at CES next week.  There's not much more info, but the news that another Honeycomb tablet is coming soon is enough to keep most of us happy for now.

There's not a lot of concrete info known about the internals of this LG tablet, but a company official has said in the past that a dual-core Tegra 2 will be powering the show, which shouldn't come as a surprise.  After all, it's been said that Google chose NVIDIA's processor as the "reference design" for Honeycomb tablets.  As far as the LG tablet's screen size goes, it should be interesting to see how people respond to an 8.9-inch display.  It's right between the iPad and the Galaxy Tab screen sizes and could end up helping the device stand out a bit when it launches, which could happen some time in the first quarter of 2011.
