BlackBerry PlayBook launch date hinted at by RIM

Now that we've seen the BlackBerry PlayBook demoed a handful of times, many of us are eager to know exactly when we can plunk down our hard-earned change for a RIM tablet to call our own.  Unfortunately, there still isn't a concrete, you-can-buy-it-on-this-date date yet, but we're definitely getting closer.  During RIM's earnings call yesterday, the company said that they expect revenue from the PlayBook to show up in the first quarter of the company's fiscal year, which starts in March.  RIM also said that the PlayBook is set to ship at the end of Q1 of the next calendar year, which is...wait for it... March!

It's important to note that since RIM hasn't actually said "Hey, you! The PlayBook is launching in March!" it's entirely possible that they could end up releasing the device before or after the third month of next year.  Still, things are looking good for a March launch, so you'd best start saving your pennies now.
