T-Mobile myTouch 4G launching on November 3rd for $199.99

T-Mobile initially announced the new myTouch back at the beginning of the month, but not only did they fail to provide a solid release date and a price, it turns out that they hadn't even settled on the actual name yet!  Thankfully all was revealed today on Magenta's Facebook page:  the myTouch 4G will be arriving on November 3rd, just like we'd heard, for $199.99 with a two year contract and $50 mail-in rebate.  In addition to being on sale at T-Mobile stores and online, the myTouch 4G will also be available at national retailers like Best Buy, Costco, RadioShack, Sam's Club, and Target.  As a refresher, specs for the myTouch 4G include a 3.8-inch WVGA display, 1 GHz MSM8255 Snapdragon processor, a 5 megapixel camera capable of shooting 720p HD video, a front-facing camera, and a pre-installed 8 GB microSD card.

We heard previously that T-Mobile may soon be planning to brand their ever-expanding HSPA+ network as "America's Largest 4G Network," so the myTouch 4G name shouldn't come as too much of a surprise.  There may be some disagreement on whether or not HSPA+ is actually a 4G network, but we'll leave that up to someone else to argue about for now.  Besides, the myTouch 4G is the spiritual successor to the myTouch 3G, and the names myTouch 3.5G or myTouch 3.999G just don't quite roll off the tongue.  Getting back to the phone, the new myTouch definitely looks like a handsome little device, and the fact that it's available in several different colors should help attract customers that may be turned off by the G2's all-business, silver and metal design.  My only question is now that we've got the G2 and the myTouch 4G, how long will it be before we see a G3 and myTouch 5G?
