Rumor: T-Mobile G2 launching Sept. 29th with 1 GHz chip, stock Froyo

So we know that T-Mobile's first HSPA+ phone will be the G2, and we even have clear, leaked photos of the device.  What we still don't have, though, is any sort of release info or even any specs on the device.  There have been rumors that the G2 would launch on September 9th, but David over at TmoNews has heard from a "trusty ninja" that a September 29th release is much more likely.  This makes sense considering Sept. 9th is only a few weeks away and we haven't heard a peep about pre-sale info.  When it comes to the specs of the G2, the folks of Android and Me believe we'll be seeing a 1 GHz Snapdragon rather than a blazing dual-core processor as well as vanilla Android 2.2.

Keep in mind that all of the information above is firmly placed in the rumor category, but I have to say that it all makes quite a bit of sense.  If the G2 was launching on September 9th, we would be hearing something from T-Mobile about pre-order info by now.  As for the specs, while a dual core processor would be nice, they won't be hitting until later this year at the earliest.  There have been rumors that the G2 would come loaded with HTC's Sense UI, but T-Mobile has referred to the G2 as a "with Google" device, which means I wouldn't be surprised to see it launch with vanilla Android 2.2 in tow.  What do you make of all of these rumors, readers?
