We heard last week that HTC's DROID Incredible was due to finally receive the update to Android 2.2 on August 18th. Well, today is August 18th and, while I hate to be the bearer of bad news, it doesn't look like your update is coming today, Incredible owners. Verizon sent out a tweet just a couple of hours ago stating that, unfortunately, the Incredible Froyo upgrade wouldn't be coming today. To make matters even worse, the carrier stated that they "currently do not have information on the Incredible update at this time." Way to pour salt into the wound, Big Red.
It's pretty disappointing that the DROID Incredible update didn't come out today, especially considering the fact that the device is finally getting back into stock on Verizon's online store. HTC did push out Android 2.2 for their EVO 4G recently, though, so you have to imagine that it's only a matter of time before the Incredible gets its own piece of Froyo goodness. Until the update comes, maybe you should just keep trying System Update on your Incredible. It could help pass the time until Android 2.2 finally comes.
