While many people use Google Checkout to pay for Android applications on a regular basis, some of us are a little wary of signing up for a Google Checkout account for whatever reason. According to Bloomberg, soon those people will be able to buy products from the ever-growing Android Market as well, because Google is in talks with PayPal to use their payment services for purchases made in the Market. The big win here would be the fact that PayPal allows users without credit cards to buy apps using bank accounts. Bloomberg has also reported that revenue earned from the Android Market may also be paid out using PayPal, which, along with new copy protection methods, could entice more developers to the platform.
There may be people that don't understand why a person wouldn't just sign up for Google Checkout, but some people don't want to sign up for another service and give out their credit card information. The option to use PayPal for payment would open things up tremendously, and the ability for devs to receive their payment via PayPal is just the icing on the cake. Of course, we have to remember that, right now, everything is still in talks, so it may be a while before we pay for Android apps using PayPal, if we ever do get the option.
