Apple includes email-based FaceTime in iOS 4.1 beta 3

Apple's new FaceTime video calling feature on the iPhone 4 is a big hit with consumers, and thanks to a new feature found in iOS 4.1 beta 3, it is about to get much bigger.  The fine folks over at MacRumors have posted a screenshot of a device running iOS 4.1 beta 3, and the contacts app now allows users to initiate a FaceTime call via phone, the old way, or via email.  This doesn't mean much now, but it does add credibility to the rumors of Apple adding cameras and FaceTime capability to the iPad and iPod Touch in the future.

The fact that Apple is enabling FaceTime calls with an email address isn't terribly surprising.  They want the standard to spread as much as possible, and if they were to open it up to iPod Touches and iPads, the number of FaceTime users would explode.  Would any of you pick up a new iPad or iPod Touch if it included a camera and FaceTime functionality?
