After releasing the EVO 4G with a storage bug today, Sprint and HTC have already sent out an update to fix the issue. Unfortunately, it also patches up the exploit that has been used to root the device. The problem stems from users trying to save data to the memory card in the phone, causing the device to shout "Insufficient File Permissions." The 13 MB update, with version number 1.32.651.6, is being pushed out over the air. There are reports that the update does break a method of rooting the EVO, so if you were planning to hack your device, you may want to hold off. While it is surprising that Sprint didn't catch the bug before the device was sent out to customers, it's good that the update is available today, when most consumers will actually be getting the EVO in their hands. So, new EVO owners, would you rather be able to actually use your memory card on a consistent basis or have root access to your phone?
