Alltel launches BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230
Alltel Wireless launched the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 a day ahead of schedule today, making it the first CDMA carrier to launch the device in the US.  Priced at $99.99 with a two-year agreement on a Smart Choice plan, the phone is available in both divested and non-divested markets.  It can be purchased online, at retail stores, or through Alltel's telesales department.



Boost Mobile to expand its retail presence
In response to the growing subscriber base from its launch of the $50 unlimited plan, Boost Mobile has detailed plans to open new retail outlets across the United States.  Currently, the prepaid provider has retail locations in Miami, Los Angeles, and Houston.  All of the new stores will be dedicated solely to promoting Boost Mobile's products and services.  Via Engadget Mobile

AT&T, US Cellular to purchase Alltel assets from Verizon
According to sources reporting to CNBC, AT&T and US Cellular will be purchasing the divested Alltel assets from Verizon Wireless, leaving 2.1 million former Alltel customers in the hands of a new carrier.  AT&T will be purchasing assets in 18 of the 24 states, while US Cellular will buy in the remaining six states.  AT&T is prepared to pay in cash for the deal, which must be completed by July.

Nokia 6750 spotted at FCC; coming to AT&T soon

Offering a 2MP camera with flash, Bluetooth and a MicroSD card slot with support for up to 8GB, the Nokia 6750 has slipped through the FCC and appears to be headed to AT&T.  Nicknamed 'Mural,' the device offers 3G and its draft user manual shows compatibility with AT&T Video.  Via SlashGear
