CSE 2008: Gajah "Snafu" MP3 player pairs with your cell phone

Gajah International is promoting their GI-07 "Snafu" Bluetooth enabled portable music player here in Vegas as a solution for entertainment lovers afraid of draining their cell phone's battery by using it for prolonged music playback.  The Snafu weighs just 30 grams and can pair with your cell phone via Bluetooth and pause the music when you've got an incoming call.  The press release claims you can actually take the call from the Snafu - it'd be sort of silly to use a Bluetooth audio player if you had to switch headsets to go from music to phone call, right?

This is an interesting idea, particularly for hardcore road warriors who've got their Bluetooth headsets in all day but can't afford to run down their cellie's battery by listening to tunes on it.  Eventually power management will be sophisticated enough that we won't have to worry about draining our cell phone batteries by listening to music, watching video, and using high-speed data connections.  But for now, Gajah might be on to something with the Snafu, even if there's turns out to be a niche market.
