Samsung now number 2 - Motorola number 3?

Motorola's market share slips from a healthy 21% to just 13% allowing Samsung to take over the number two spot with a 15% market share. It's a little surprising considering four out of the top ten phones sold in the US during third quarter were manufactured by Motorola.

With the new product line ?ZiNE? soon to be released and all of the entry level phones Motorola currently offers in the rapidly growing pre-paid market it will be interesting to see if Samsung can retain the 2% market share advantage next quarter.

I guess when you've repackaged a V3 Razr so many times it's really only a matter of time before consumers look elsewhere for innovation.
