Samsung announced today they have developed a single chip RFID reader that will enable users to retrieve information wherever RFID tags are embedded. What does this mean for us as consumers? Well...with so many tags buried in everything from clothing to movie posters to museums and more there will be a wealth of information literally at your fingertips.
Thankfully Samsung does not plan on embedding the reader into its mobile phones, but rather use a removable card similar to the familiar MicroSD chip. This method will make it easier for the consumer to update to any new technologies when they become available in the future.
