Virtual BlackBerry: RIM bringing application suite to Windows Mobile 6

Research In Motion announced Monday plans to bring versions of the entire suite of BlackBerry applications to Windows Mobile 6 users.  The application suite, planned to be offered later this year for "select devices based on Windows Mobile 6," will bring users "a virtual BlackBerry application experience, including support for BlackBerry email, phone, calendar, address book, tasks, memos, browser, instant messaging and other applications developed for the BlackBerry platform," according to an RIM press release.

The new application suite will run inside of WM 6, and will support BlackBerry services via BlackBerry Enterprise Server and BB Internet Service.  RIM says that the new software will "feature the familiar user interface of a BlackBerry smartphone," but function like a standard third-party WinMob app, allowing users to click in and out of the BlackBerry environment without otherwise impacting their operating system.
