The pair of Galaxy S phones this year are absolutely hot. The S7 and S7 edge are the sexiest Android phones on the market right now and it could be a hard process to choose the right phone for you. Welcome to my top 5 reasons to choose the Samsung Galaxy S7 over the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge.
#5: Size
At number five is the size and feel on the hand. So I know what you're thinking, the bigger the phone, the better it must be. Though I still feel the Galaxy S7 edge (even with its new curved back) is a much sharper phone in the hand and there's physically less to hold onto the sides. Also, the 5.1-inch size of the S7 just reminds me how nice it is to have a manageable one-handed device.
#4: Display
Number four is the sharper display. The S7 and S7 edge both share the same resolution display, same display technology but they do not share the same display size. The S7 edge comes in at 5.5 inches while the S7 comes in at 5.1 inches. That gives a slight advantage in ppi to the Galaxy S7.
#3: Speakers
Number three is a better sounding speaker. Somehow, the Galaxy S7 (even with its muffled IP68 coating on top of the speaker) sounds less muffled than the S7 edge. It's louder too. This is sort of a strange one if you ask me. However, both the S7 and S7 edge sound very tinny.
#2: Operation
Number two is one-handed operation. The size of the Galaxy S7 is literally perfect for one-handed operation. It fits so well on one hand that you can basically do everything and anything. And it just reminds you how nice a small phone is these days. And that's really not the case with the Galaxy S7 edge. Unless you have really macho hands, the S7 edge requires all hands on deck.
#1: Price
Number on is the price. The S7 is simply less expensive than the edge. And if you don't care too much about the super futuristic design about the S7 edge but do care about performance and battery life, the S7 is basically the perfect device for you. It delivers the same exact performance and experience minus those sign-ups found on the S7 edge for a bit less cash.
