Heads up, registered iOS developers. Hot on the heels of the announcement of the iPhone 5, Apple has posted the iOS 6 Golden Master (GM) version on its official developer page. As noted by Engadget, the iOS 6 GM is build number 10A403. Registered developers can now download the iOS 6 GM from Apple's iOS Dev Center and install in on an iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, new iPad, iPad 2, or fourth generation iPod touch.
Apple originally introduced iOS 6 at WWDC back in early June, and since then the company has steadily been releasing beta versions of the OS for registered developers to test out. Some of the new features found in iOS 6 include Facebook integration, Siri improvements, Apple's own Maps app and the Passbook app, the last of which will store things like scannable loyalty cards and boarding passes. As for when us regular folk will be able to give those features a go, Apple revealed earlier today that iOS 6 will be released to the public on September 19. That gives you registered developers one extra week to test iOS 6 and make sure it works smoothly with your apps, so get to downloading!
