T-Mobile's BlackBerry Bold 9780 has been rocking the BlackBerry 6 OS since its launch last November, but anyone with a Bold 9700 has been left with BB 5 for well over a year now. Fortunately, that's all about to change. The folks at BGR have heard from "multiple sources" that T-Mo is in the process of releasing BB 6 for the Bold 9700. No official announcement has been made, and the update isn't live on Magenta's site just yet, but users should be able to download and install it by using the BlackBerry Desktop software.

It may have taken some time and patience, but Bold 9700 owners are finally being rewarded after resisting the urge to upgrade to the 9780 jump ship to another platform altogether.
