Less than one year after their launch, the Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL have been discontinued.

Both phones are now out of stock on the Google Store, with the config page listing the unlocked, Verizon, and Fi models as unavailable. Google confirmed to 9to5Google that it's sold through its inventory and completed sales of both phones.

"Google Store has sold through its inventory and completed sales of Pixel 4|4XL. For people who are still interested in buying Pixel 4|4XL, the product is available from some partners while supplies last. Just like all Pixel devices, Pixel 4 will continue to get software and security updates for at least 3 years from when the device first became available on the Google Store in the US."

This decision is notable for a couple of reasons. First is that without the Pixel 4 and 4 XL, Google doesn't have a flagship phone available right now. The only device that it's actively selling is the Pixel 4a, with the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 not slated to launch until this fall.

Google has also discontinued the Pixel 4 and 4 XL much earlier than previous flagships. Both the Pixel 2 and Pixel 3 were available for around 18 months, but the Pixel 4 only lasted about nine months.
