Great Overall Service

Posted on: August 23rd, 2006 by Laurie McIntosh

The good: Great customer service, coverage area, and calling plansThe bad: Infrequent dropped callsSummary: I have been with Verizon Wireless for over 5 years and would not think of changing plans. Verizon has many calling plans to fit anyones specific needs. I use my cell phone for all long distance calling (versus my home phone) and never have to pay for them. My daughter also has verizon and recently moved clear across the country. Being able to talk with her at anytime at no charge helps bear my missing her.

My Verizon Experience

Posted on: August 23rd, 2006 by GEri Chainko

The good: Good ServiceThe bad: Too many add on charges, bad customer serviceSummary: While the service itself works quite well, thier customer service is below par. My big problem is that when I activated my service at $34.99 per month I was told that my actual bil would be about 10% higher, between $38 and $39. My bill runs about $43 per month with all of their various surcharges. These are not government taxes, just inflated fees. I think this is highly unethical and that can and do change them whenever they want without changing the base price. You may have a contract locking you into a certain price, but they still find a way to raise the price on you whenever they want.

Thumbs Up

Posted on: August 23rd, 2006 by Bill Justesen

The good: Sound quality excellentThe bad: I15 area is spotty coverage, even though the map shows excellent coverage the entire length of I15Summary: Verizon has not yet upgraded to EVDO data service in Millard County like Utah or Salt Lake County. As such, the data service is slower in our neck of the woods.Customer service seems to be lacking on price quotes. Originally signed up for $30/month data package as told to me by the first customer rep, but was billed at $45/month. When I called to complain, the second service rep stated the $30/month was incorrect and the true rate was at $45/month. Simply cancelled the data package.

Many Years

Posted on: August 23rd, 2006 by Dale Smith

I have been with Verizon Wireless since 1985. Many Carriers have come and gone but Verizon has always been there. I did at one time work for Radio Shack, Verizon was our Carrier. Never had any problems dealing with them. I would recommend Verizon to any one. You will not be disappointed.

Ok, But need improvements

Posted on: August 22nd, 2006 by Jose Castellon

The good: Great Service,Customer Service is Great. The bad: So Expensive compared to all the other carrier's.Summary: Verizon Wireless is a good company. When I called wondering about why my cell phone was not working. They told me to do all these things and it worked. But the bill goes around the $100s and is very expensive compared to T-Mobile or Cingular. The Cell Signal is great and works all over Arlington. Recommended for Bussiness'.

Service

Posted on: August 22nd, 2006 by Rita Vichinsky

The good: great serviceThe bad: warrantySummary: Verizon Wirelees is the carrier I have had for 5 years. I have very few dropped calls and always seem to have reception where ever I go. I just wish they had roll over minutes and a better warranty service.

Can't believe it?

Posted on: August 22nd, 2006 by Monica Federico

I have been with Verizon Wireless for almost five years. The service is great. I use my phone for everything. The apartments that I live in have a problem with their phone lines and so I use my cell phone as a replacement of my landline phone. I almost never have a dropped call and even when we had a slight earthquake a while back my cell phone went straight through when all others were having problems. I highly recommend this service and hope you enjoy it as I do. Thankyou.

Too Many Dropped Calls!!!!!

Posted on: August 22nd, 2006 by J.E. Swinn

The good: I can call my parents (in their 80's) cell without using any minutes. The bad: Drops all my calls made from my home.Summary: I tried many phones attempting to find a phone that would not drop calls made for inside my home or even out in my yard. After I took my 3rd phone back to the retailer, I was told that there were not enought cell towers in my area and no service provider would be able to give me service that was any better. I was dumb enough to believe them.

Verizon Wireless Plan

Posted on: August 22nd, 2006 by Laura Melville

The good: It works well in my area. I live in a rural area that does not provide good signals...but Verizon is providing it well. The bad: They are more interested in getting new customers than pleasing and keeping the current ones (unless you're due for renewal).Summary: The phones that came with the plan aren't very good. The one has never worked correctly and the other drains the battery very fast (I've purchased 2 new batteries - expensive - and the same problem exists). Customer service keeps handing us a phone manual...well we have that and it doesn't solve a defective phone problem. We decided to just pay for new phones..but that option is only available if we will pay FULL PRICE for the phone. We aren't allowed any discounts until our renewal time. We even said we'd sign another contract extending our service another 2 years (they would have us stuck in a 4 years contract if they'd agree to this), but no we got a "Sorry can't help you."
