Dropped Calls- Not fun

Posted on: August 28th, 2006 by Sandra Erwin

The good: This company has a shared plan package and free long calls after 9:00 pm and on weekendsThe bad: Even with a family shared plan and calling other people who have this company, I still get dropped calls. The monthly bill is kind of high too.Summary: We have used Verizon for over a year now and they really aren't a very good company to work with. We have tried to get our minutes changed several times and it never gets done. We also get so many dropped calls when we are speaking to family members that are also on Verizon.

Verizon Wireless

Posted on: August 27th, 2006 by Cheryl Espedal

The good: Very few dropped calls; ability to call and receive calls in fairly remote areasThe bad: A little priceySummary: I have never had any disputes or problems with Verizon Wireless in the seven years I have used them plus I get a new phone every two years when I renew my contract. When I have had questions about usage, they have always answered my questions fully and satisfied my mind.

Verizon Wireless, the best there is, but still not perfect

Posted on: August 24th, 2006 by Paul Scaloner

The good: Great customer service, very wide coverage in the US, finally getting decent phonesThe bad: Very finnicky about coverage, completely strange dead spotsSummary: Verizon wireless was the decision I made 5 years ago and stuck with. My previous carrier was the driving force to get out of their contract as they had the worst customer service I had ever dealt with and the coverage was terrible. The phones are great, their customer service is phenomenal, and they have wide coverage. The complaint I have is their coverage is extremely strange. For example, I was able to make a phone call in a remote rural area of Speculator New York where none of my friends had service. However, my home in Long Island yields absolutely no service at all. Go figure. It's extremely frustrating to basically never get a phone call where I am most of the time, but the rest of their coverage and their customer service makes up for it. Go Verizon!

Overall a very good carrier

Posted on: August 24th, 2006 by Anonymous

The good: Excellent network coverage, especially if you have a tri-mode phone vs. all digital phone. Very satisfied with customer service and dispute resolution. Verizon has always taken care of any problems I've had with my phone with a quick trip to their storefront. Verizon has also honored a new phone return when I wasn't satisfied with signal quality. The bad: If you change your Verizon service plan, your bill will be a confusing mess for two months, but it will work out in the end. I don't particularly like the new phones Verizon is offering since they're all-digital (meaning if there's only an analog signal, you have NO service). I also prefer a phone that is a phone FIRST, gets great reception, with bells and whistles a distant second. I seem to be in the minority here since the new phones put extras first, and signal strength second.Summary: I've used Verizon for over five years and have no desire to switch carriers. I have a very reliable phone, have had no problems with customer service or billing, and am very happy with my plan and coverage. With a couple wise choices as to phone and plan selection, I would highly recommend Verizon Wireless.

I hate Verizon!!

Posted on: August 24th, 2006 by Kim Godin

The good: The only pro I have found with them is that it is free to talk to other Verizon cell phone customers. The bad: Where to start...I never have a signal anywhere I go not even in my house I have to stand outside to talk to anyone. I paid a pro rate free so I should have the last month free if I ever cancel my phone but I will still get charged for the last month. Everytime you make a change to your phone (ie add or remove features) your contract starts over again. Summary: All in all I hate Verizon. They only suck money out of you for service and phones for that matter that isn't worth a penny.

I love Verizon Wireless!!

Posted on: August 23rd, 2006 by Anonymous

The good: I like the fact that I never have a lost call. "Meaning the call connects then drops"The bad: The only thing I don't like about Verizon Wireless is the phone packages you can choose from. Sometimes other carriers have more intersting phones to pick out.Summary: In all, I couldn't have picked a better wireless service to use. To me, they are more reliable than other services and like I said I never have a lost call.

The good: It seems to serve this part of the country better than any other cell phone service - so far.The bad: There are still many "dead" areas.Summary: I don't know what I'd do without my cell phone - just thankful I can use it in as many places as I can.

MY VERIZON EXPERIENCE

Posted on: August 23rd, 2006 by GEri Chainko

The good: Decent quality serviceThe bad: Too many add on charges, bad customer serviceSummary: While the service itself works quite well, their customer service is below par. My big problem is that when I activated my service at $34.99 per month I was told that my actual bill would be about 10% higher, between $38 and $39. My bill runs about $43 per month with all of their various surcharges. These are not government taxes, just inflated fees. I think this is highly unethical and they can and do change them whenever they want without changing the base price. You may have a contract locking you into a certain price, but they still find a way to raise the price on you whenever they want.

Service

Posted on: August 23rd, 2006 by Misty Goodman

The good: Good costumer serviceThe bad: Very bad cell phone service.Summary: I have been with Verizon for about 3 years now. My first phone I had with them was a lot better than the phone that I recently purchased from them. My service is terribly. We live in a very small town. We have to but right out in town to get really good phone service and then sometimes we even have trouble there. I don't know if I got a really bad phone or what.
