Great service/plan for the best rate

Posted on: September 24th, 2006 by David Oguni

The good: Cheapest service for what you get with the SERO plan, good choice of phones, free phone w/ new planThe bad: No free text messaging with the cheapest planSummary: Sprint is the best service I've had thus far. They have the best rates for great service. Can't beat 500mins, Free N/W after 7, Free Vision, and phone for $40/month.

Sprint Service in Northern Minnesota

Posted on: September 22nd, 2006 by Deb Soukup

The good: Customer service has always been very helpful when contacted about my service plan. Their web page provides a very user friendly format to access all account informationThe bad: I do have trouble with dropped calls due to switching service from sprint service to roaming.Summary: Overall I am pleased with my Sprint service. They are currently working on getting more towers that will provide their service in Northern MN but at this time there are still to few.

Happy for now.

Posted on: September 22nd, 2006 by J Sutton

The good: When problems, customer service available and helpful. When the reconfigured some towers and my area became a dead zone, they fixed it in a few days and didn't charge me for the time I had no coverage (this was back in NJ).The bad: Can't change plans without signing up for at least 2 more yrs of service.Summary: So far so good. I'd like newer, more competitive, sleaker phones to be offered.

Sprint and the Game of Chance: Dropped Calls

Posted on: September 22nd, 2006 by Wizard4 Cash

The good: Sprint has good coverage and overall I like the plan with a low fee to call other Sprint PCS owners. The bad: I find that calls are easily dropped even if the bars on the phone show 4 or more. It is not phone related since we have 5 in the household and all of them tend to drop at least one call per week.Summary: It has become like a casino game to figure our when and who will get their call dropped. Maybe Sprint needs to upgrade their towers so the users don't have to guess. I like their plan and the options but wish they could fix the call problems within my area both at home and at work. In spite of the problems we have found their programs to fit our family plan needs the best and at the best value.

bad service network

Posted on: September 20th, 2006 by ruby ho

frequency of signals are so bad that neither we nor the person at other end can hear us and this happens only when we are in our area (or maybe I should say in my house and the open area surrounding it)

Sprint PCS plan

Posted on: September 20th, 2006 by Tim Dauwalter

The good: Sprint seems to have a relatively nice service area. I don't have too many dropped calls and can often get service where other people can't.The bad: My phone spends a lot of time using free roaming, including at work, my home, and my parents home, all near a metro area. Terrible customer service. Summary: I would recommend sprint to other customers. I would suggest against getting their cheapest phones though as they tend to be garbage. Basically nice plans, cheap phones (and calling their service is about as much fun as having teeth pulled).

Since Nextel

Posted on: September 20th, 2006 by Ryan Latourette

The good: Cheap (at least with discounts applied), largely reliable when near a highwyThe bad: Service isn't as high as it should be. Limited on phone replacement to every 2 years - and only an el-cheapo is provided at that.Summary: While the area of service may have expanded with the merger of Sprint and Nextel nationally, the signal quality in the local area and their service as a whole have suffered. Once able to get a great signal throughout Eaton County, the level of signal strength has since dropped tremendously. Likewise their service has fallen in satisfaction.

Sprint PCS

Posted on: September 18th, 2006 by Aalok Patel

The good: Anywhere you go in the Kansas City area you will always have service. In addition, there are many sprint stores located all over Kansas City to facilitate your needs as a customer. There support staff is very friendly. They have a nice selection of phones that are pretty affordable. The bad: Although Sprint service is unbeatable in the Kansas City area, the service isn't that great in other area. I made a roadtrip to Florence, SC with some friends and there plenty of places I did not recieve service that my friends recieved service using Cingular.Summary: Sprint is a very good carrier if you live in Kansas City. There are a lot a sprint stores in case of any technical or service issues. It is very affordable phone carrier. They have a great selection of phones at very reasonable or phones that are even free. However, the do not provide the best nationwide service. I have witnessed this firsthand. If your are a person who travels a lot or values having a signal everywhere you go, then you should consider Cingular. However, if you want the best overall bang for your buck, go with sprint.

Sprint's Deceiving Roaming Plan

Posted on: September 13th, 2006 by Jay Xiong

The good: You can roam as long as you want without incuring a single penny of roaming charges. The bad: Sprint makes you think their unlimited roaming plan is risk-free, but is it really? (more in the summary)Summary: Sprint has a plan called the "American" Plan, in which it says that all roaming calls are treated like normal voice calls. If one does not read this carefully, one might think that one can be roaming during nights and weekends or during mobile-to-mobile calls and have nothing to worry about. Now you might define a "normal voice call" as just a regular call to any friend or significant other using unlimited mobile-to-mobile or night & weekend minutes. I mean C'mon! A "NORMAL" call to us customers is a call where we try NOT to use our day-time minutes in fear of going over. Who intentionally goes over their day-time minutes? So when Sprint says all roaming calls are treated like "normal voice calls", we think we can make "our" own "normal" voice calls. This makes us think this roaming plan is a really good idea! WRONG!!! Sprint defines "normal" differently than we do. Sprint's "normal" calls are calls that use your day-time minutes. You see, it's the opposite here. If you call 5 minutes worth of roaming at 10:30pm, you WILL lose 5 minutes of your day-time minutes, because roaming calls are "treated like NORMAL voice calls". Sprint defines "NORMAL" differently from us. It's true that Sprint will never charge its customers (who are on the American Plan) a single penny for roaming. The catch is this: If you ever use roaming minutes, they will all come off of your day-time minutes. Yep. That means even when you're using mobile-to-mobile or night & weekend minutes (which are supposed to be unlimited), you're still losing your day-time minutes one by one. Let's say you have a 300 day-time minute plan with unlimited mobile-to-mobile minutes, and you decide to make a call to your girlfriend or boyfriend (who also has a mobile-to-mobile plan with Sprint). Sprint doesn't charge you for your mobile-to-mobile minutes. Now let's say that 10 minutes into that same call, you walk into an area not covered by Sprint and your phone switches to roaming mode. Let's assume this same call lasts for a rediculous 400 minutes. Well, every minute after the first 10 that you used was charged against your 300-anytime-minute plan (EVEN THOUGH YOU & THE PERSON YOU WERE TALKING TO HAD THE MOBILE-TO-MOBILE PLAN). This means that this phone call alone milked you dry of all your day-time minutes already, and you will now be charged for every single minute you use thereafter. No, DO NOT think you can still call anyone else with mobile-to-mobile minutes afterwards, because once you've gone over your minutes, your unlimited mobile-to-mobile minutes don't exist anymore (at least until the next billing cycle). That means you'll have to wait until your night & weekend minutes begin before you can make another call without losing your minutes. Yep. Sprint makes you think their unlimited roaming plan is risk-free. No, they will never charge you money for using roaming, but you will lose as many day-time minutes as you use ro

Posted on: September 5th, 2006 by Audrey Austin

The good: Nothing special The bad: Expensive plans, nothing minimal, reception bad just 3 miles from Towers, in several Fl countiesSummary: Poor coverage, unless in major cities, competive plans all the same,no plans for occasional user, long renewal term, newer phone reception worse then origional phone bought 6 years ago. Do not use as long distance service, not enough bars.
