Package Dosen't Tell You All You Need to Know!

Posted on: July 27th, 2007 by Anonymous

The good: Easy to activate... IF you are in a well covered service area. Nice screen, easy to read clock. Size of phone is easy to cary. (or loose!)The bad: 10 cents is still way more than TracPhone, which seems to be the parent company. Very limited selection of phones, and ours DID NOT WORK IN OUR RURALISH AREA! No way to know WHERE this phone will work until AFTER we bought it. Tech service is in Pakistain or India, someplace like that. They speak english... Sort of. I could NOT understand them, and they could NOT help me. We were just out the money, since it was "OUR" fault we don't live in big town! Summary: If you want this for a kid, (We did) AND you KNOW it will work in your area, it might be OK. I would NEVER use this as a first line phone, much less as an emergency phone. You can not count on service being available. The big, easy to see clock was the best feature as far as I was concerned. This was a Christmas present for my daughter, and she was very disapointed. We have two 'regular' Tracphones, and they DO work fine in our area. (They are older models with real antennas) And, they are much less expensive even out of 'home' area to use per minute. Battery life is better too. (Important for an emergency communication device) Adding air time is a bit more of a pain with Tracphones, but I'll live with that, as they at least WORK!

The good: cheapest air time ive seen, decent priced phonespretty good coverage for my area. The bad: HORRIBLE customer service.. i cant stree that enough. phones are kinda crappy. they wear out easy.Summary: ive had 4 net10 phones and 2 of them have shot craps on me. i found more looking on google for answers on how to fix my phone then anything net10's service center had to offer. if you hate proper english dont call these people.if you need a cheap phone that wont get used alot then its a good choice, but for a heavy use phone id pass on net10.

Excellent Buy, once you get the bugs out!!!

Posted on: July 16th, 2007 by Anonymous

The good: Inexpensive, always 10 cent/min, great coverage area, The bad: cheap phones, customer service not the best, setup not as easy as it should be.Summary: You have to be forceful with their customer service, the first line people you get are barely tech literate. If they do not have answer, insist on a supervisor... usually they at least have a clue. If you know they are wrong, insist on corrections. Took me an average of 2 days per phone to get bugs ironed out. (3 phones)

net10

Posted on: July 10th, 2007 by Kristen L

The good: none. The bad: tons of dropped calls, poor customer service, charged minutes for accessing voicemail, service in only certain places, and very cheap phones.Summary: i have had net10 for about two years now, and i pretty much hate it overall. this weekend, ironically, i am switching to another service because i just cannot stand this service. even i do not know why i stuck with this service for so long. customer service is the rudest i have ever encountered, and i have never heard of a service that drops so many calls and charges thir customers minutes to access their own voicemail. i was astonished the first time i used it. advice to all, do yourself a favor and don't use this service!

Poor customer service and defective equipment.

Posted on: July 3rd, 2007 by Anonymous

The good: Low pricesThe bad: Phone needed to be reset four times in 24 hours! You had to find a landline and get thru the automated que. It was 20 min to reset the phoneI bought the Motorola C139 with 300 min for 60 days for $30 at KMart. 5 cents text messaging.Summary: Don't rely on this service. May be used as a backup plan

Stay away!!!

Posted on: June 18th, 2007 by Gary Nap

The good: CheapThe bad: TERRIBLE service. I tried to port my land line for 30 days and they could not complete the transaction. In the interim I received TWO additional bills on my land line that I wanted ported. Summary: Their "customer service" has absolutely no control of operations in their company.

Best deal for people like me

Posted on: May 30th, 2007 by Janet Sorensen

The good: Cheap, no contract, works just fine for meThe bad: You have to remember to buy a card, but they call and email to remind you, and you can get 1 year of service and 1500 minutes for $150.Summary: I have to disagree with all these complaints. I've used tracfone for years and just switched to Net10, which is a new plan from tracfone. I've never had any problems, and have had excellent customer service. Yes, you will lose your number if you forget to buy a card by the due date. Actually, they give you a few days grace period with the regular tracfone plan. With tracfone, I never lost my minutes when I forgot, and it has never happened with Net10 so I wouldn't know. The due date is right there on your phone. Tracfone will call and e-mail you reminders if you want them to. You do not have to wait for your due date to buy minutes -- they will add the time and minutes to what you already have. I've had to call them when I could not get my minutes loaded on my old phone, and they took care of it immediately and couldn't have been friendlier. I am a long-time tracfone user, and if I don't like the Net10 plan, I will just switch back to regular tracfone. I pay about $200 TOTAL a year for my wireless service, and that includes the phone! Plus, when my friends' phones are out of range, mine usually still works. I highly recommend tracfone for people like me, and Net10 is a tracfone product. Don't believe every complaint you read -- maybe the satisfied users are too busy to leave reviews!

net 10 is a great phone these people say you cant keep your minutes if your phone dies and you get a different phone all you have to do is have your serial number and tell the company and they will transfer them you just need to be smart enough to know what to do.

Great phone, Lowsy Customer Service!!!!!!

Posted on: March 26th, 2007 by David Cronin

The good: 10cents a minute, great coverage. The bad: Liars, thieves, rudest customer service center I have ever encountered.Summary: Purchased 300 minutes on March 3rd. Could not load on phone. Call Tech Support. Was told to call back 3 to 5 days, system error would be fixed by then. Have called 7 times since then, promised extra minutes, then on fourth call promised new phone(never arrived-liars), here it is March 26th and just got off phone with customer service supervisor with thick accent, very hard to understand at times - result: call back in three to five business days. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Lost out money for minutes purchased, have a phone I can't use, and dealing with a company who couldn't care less about their customers................My suggestion? Use someone other then Net10/Tracfone.
