Net10 is Horrible and that's being nice.

Posted on: February 27th, 2007 by Missy Waites

The good: I can not think of one.The bad: Horrible Customer Service, They Forget to mail your order, then you cancel and then they ship it out 2 weeks later and charge your credit card. Then they send the wrong sims card. Then the phone is defective, then they will not give you a refund.Summary: Do not use Net10/Tracphone. They are a companie that has no interest in customer satisfaction and are very rude and will not refund your money if their product wont work. Big Mistake DO Not DO IT. After 3 weeks after ordering I never was even able to use the phone and they refused a refund. The customer service rep told me "That ain't gonna happen lady".

Stay away from NT10!!!

Posted on: February 22nd, 2007 by J Rimback

The good: Cheap pricesThe bad: EVERYTHING elseSummary: On January 27th 2007, I added 300 minutes to my phone. Within 2 hours, the phone reset itself, losing 880 minutes. On Jan 29th, I called cystomer service, and was told that a new phone was being sent out, and I'd have it in 3-5 days.Today is February 22nd, and after 4 more calls to customer service I STILL HAVE NO PHONE!!!Stay away from these people, they will RIP YOU OFF!!!

I feel ripped off

Posted on: January 11th, 2007 by Kim Rozell

The good: 10¢ per minute flat rate. Can control cost. The bad: When phone dies you loose all the minutes you just purchased.Summary: I purchased 300 minutes from NET10 to top up my phone. It sent a message conferming the new 300 minutes. Then the phone dies later that day. You can't transfer those minutes to a new phone, you lost them. Between the 10 day old phone and the lost 1,515 minutes I paid for... they are gone forever! That's $250 down the drain in all. Never got a response to e-mails, and 3 hour hold time for technical service that never answers their phone. Worst of all, the phone died during a medical emergency of a family member when the phone is needed the most. Not a good experience.

Great phone for those on the run*

Posted on: December 9th, 2006 by Mike Silverstein

The good: *From the Law!You can get a phone number with any area code, great if you want to say you're from LA (323) or Las Vegas (702)The bad: If you don't buy more airtime by your due date - even if you have plenty of minutes left - you lose all those minutes AND YOUR NUMBER.Summary: You will be deactivated for two reasons:1) Run out of minutes (unable to place or receive calls)2) Fail to renew by due date even if you have minutes left (phone is disabled and you lose your phone number)SO just buy airtime regularly, right??? Not so simple. Here's something not advertised on the Net10 site: If you buy too early, you lose days of service. Example: Let's say you buy 30 days, and a week later buy another 30. You get not 60, but only 37!!! This is because your new 30 days starts when purchased. So you want to renew as late as possible, right?!? Well, here is the GOTCHA. Their website is highly erratic and their CS is hostile, thickly accented and only works business hours. So if you push your luck (trying only to get all the days of airtime you paid for) you risk losing your minutes and your number. On top of that the service is pronbe to dropouts and of rough quality. I only recommend Net10 to people who need disposable phones: fugitives, spies and people on the Witness Relo Program.

Nice Phone

Posted on: October 27th, 2006 by Vickie Martin

The good: Ten cents a minute, no matter what. I don't have to worry about overages and roaming charges. Motorola V171 a very nice phone with good sound. Simple plan to use, and for $15 a month, you can't beat it! I get coverage almost everywhere. Great reception, too.The bad: Phone came with 20 decent ringtones, but I can't download any ringtones but those silly sounding lame ones on the Net10 website. They're too embarrasing to use. Sometimes inside of a store or mall, I'll get NO SERVICE when I try to use it. In most stores, its fine, and its fine at work, so I don't get what causes that. Also have to watch time limit so I don't lose my phone number.Summary: All in all its a good basic plan for somebody like me who doesn't use a cell phone overly much, and mostly has one for emergencies on the road or something. I'm happy with it, but its just a simple plan that I need where I don't have to worry about a monthly bill.

Net10 Prepaid

Posted on: October 4th, 2006 by A. Appleman

The good: Excellent coverage, no roaming charges, ten cents a minute all the time, no unexpected fees. The bad: Limited on phone style choices, not very many to choose from, and have to choose from their own phones.Summary: I love Net10. I have everything positive to say about the service, nothing negative. I've never gone without network service, have never seen my phone roam (which there'd be no charge if it did) and the calls are clear... I've had one dropped call in all the time I've been using it. Terrific prepaid service.

Worst Customer Service Ever

Posted on: September 2nd, 2006 by PETER SPOSATO

The good: great price and good coverageThe bad: horrible customer service, the worst ever!Summary: When my Net10 Motorola C139 phone reset itself, I tried to get it back up with customer service. They said the only thing that they could do was send me a new phone and that it would take a week. The phone was fine it just needed to be brought back on line and have the minutes reloaded. Nasty, impolite, unhelpful, can't speak english, cant understand english and then said they would send me a new phone overnight...they lied!

Fantastic Deal

Posted on: July 11th, 2006 by Nathan Erickson

The good: I pay $15/month and have more minutes (150) than I really need and the option to add more at the same price whenever needed. No extra surcharges, taxes, ... The bad: Phone is not fancy but it suits my needs. The only pain is that you need to remember to renew your account or you risk losing your phone number.Summary: Very happy with the purchase. It's an affordable way to have a cell phone. Includes text messaging, voicemail, and decent coverage.
