CAN'T BEAT THE VALUE -- (Who cares about the customer service?)

Posted on: September 16th, 2007 by J J

The good: Flat rate of $45 or $50 (depending on your market) for UNLIMITED: UNL. Internet browsing, UNL. Email access (phone must have proper email app installed), UNL. Nationwide Long Distance, UNL. Picture messaging, UNL. Text messaging. The bad: Lousy Customer service, but who cares?! - You only need to call them once or twice to get hooked up or for to switch to another phone. I see other reviewers whining about the customer service, but so what.... I can go down to ANY store or business and find an abundance of ignorance! What really matters is the quality of the cellular calls. You find me another carrier that can offer UNLIMITED EVERYTHING like Metro does for only $50 a month, and I will eat my shorts!Summary: Forget about the service reps and ENJOY the freedom of unlimited service. As long as you use a cell phone primarily within the metro coverage areas, you just can't beat the service (as in performance, NOT customer service).Their coverage is slowly expanding. It won't be long before the 2 big US carriers feel the pressure!

Love the service, Don't love the coverage

Posted on: July 4th, 2007 by Anonymous

The good: THe service is great!! I have NEVER had a dropped call in 3 years. The bad: Even in my own town there are places that are not in the service coverage for Metro PCS.Summary: I will stay with Metro PCS because I do not travel out of town normally. For anyone who travels any distance at all, like my hubby, would have to have a larger network for coverage.

Worst customer service ever

Posted on: June 20th, 2007 by Ken Hinkle

I purchased a phone online for my girlfriend. It arrived in good time. The instructions on the shipping receipt where to dial *228 from the phone to activate. That did not work! I called customer service 1(877) add metro. After waiting on hold for 6 minutes they gave me another number to call 8888638768. I called that number and was told I couldn't activate the phone unless I was the perchance. I explained I was the one who purchased the phone and it was for my girlfriend. They told me they couldn?t do anything. Then they hung up. After being feed up with the already bad service I decided to quit while I was ahead and send the phone back. I called the same number to get an RMA. They had no clue what an RMA was.

So far, so good

Posted on: April 25th, 2007 by Nicole Collie

The good: Affordable monthly plansThe bad: Replacing a phone can be pricey if you do not have insurance.Summary: I was skeptical about purchasing Metro PCS because of mixed reviews I read, but I like the idea of unlimited minutes. I just purchased a couple of weeks ago and so far I LOVE it. I get better reception in my apartment than the carrier I just left. Luckily, the only place out of town that I go has Metro PCS as well, so I haven?t had any problems with no service as of yet. I have had to call customer service 2 times so far and have had NO problems getting through to a live person. They were very friendly and answered all of my questions with no problems. I also have to say, this is much cheaper and better than a pre-paid plan with very little minutes. I have a teen-age daughter that will be receiving a Metro PCS phone for her b-day and I like knowing that I don?t have to worry about her running up minutes and breaking MY pockets...lol.

Great wireless provider!

Posted on: March 1st, 2007 by Jesse Garza

The good: don't have to keep track of minutes or text messagesThe bad: somewhat expensive to "roam" outside of local areaSummary: I was a comitted Verizon wireless customer for years but I was tired of paying monthly overages. I travel 2 hours to and from work daily and tend to use my cell phone during my commute. I usually had to not call out on certain dates so I wouldn't run out of my daytime minutes. Several months back, one of my co-workers switched carriers to Metro PCS and raved about it. She even got a phone for her teenage daughter to use. I switched the next week and have not been disappointed. The signal is clear and I even have better signal strength in Rockwall than I did with Verizon (which is an outer suburb of Dallas) I love not having to worry if I'll run out of minutes or having to deal with bills that fluctuate monthly. In addition, I use 411 a lot and Metro PCS has a flat unlimited use plan for only $2 extra! This is a great service if you don't travel outside of your local market much.

Metero Is Improving

Posted on: February 24th, 2007 by angelo riddell

The good: Metro has a good selection of phones and plans that are affordable no matter what walk of life you are from. Unlimited local and long distance for a SET monthly fee.The bad: Service is not available in many parts of Florida and the U.S. They are improving their range, but coverage is definitely limited.Summary: This is the best plan for anyone who does not travel outside of the state often. For a cell phone text message warrior, Metro PCS cannot be beat.
