A Bargain in San Francisco

Posted on: January 27th, 2012 by Anonymous

The Good: Flat Rate $50/month for Android phone for voice, texting, and data, no termination or reactivation fees. The Bad: Lack of Coverage, Slow Network, Horrible Customer Service, pay full price of phone upfront. I'm really quite happy with my $100 (at the time) Samsung Admire phone. When I got it, it had the latest Android OS, the touch screen is responsive, and almost all apps work with it. Since I rarely leave the Greater SF Bay Area where coverage is good, it works to me. Yes, customer service is weak. One isn't going to get everything for this kind of price. I rarely need customer service in practice, though. By comparison, an unlimited voice and text plan with the *minimum* 2Gb/month data plan for a smartphone at Verison will cost $119.99 per month. Yes, you will not get the same kind of service one gets from Verizon for half the price. Not only that, but you are locked into a plan. With MetroPCS one can stop and restart at any time with no financial penalty. This service is not for everyone, but if you want inexpensive fixed rates with no commitment, and you live in an area where it has good network service, then it is a reasonable option.

Read b4 going to metro-save tons

Posted on: January 15th, 2012 by Anonymous

If you must use metro please be know this: they will honor online prices, they will not let you leave the store; they will give you online price for phones; don't get ripped off. Also if your looking to upgrade your phone, they tell you it's 20.00 at dealer stores. it's free dial *228 press send if you want to switch phones; phone number change is 5.55 not a penny more. Accessories are cheap, you can get nice ones for ten bucks, don't pay 20 for a case. Don't let them fool you into paying for the highest plan the first month, you don't have to. 40 for nonandroids and 50 for androids. Updated on Jan 15, 2012 Oh yeah forgot to mention that if you have a metro phone, activate it yourself, will save you about 30.00, you only have to pay the first month, no reactivation fee required!

Terrible

Posted on: January 12th, 2012 by Annika Broughton

I had to rate as a one or they wouldn't post it. MetroPCS is the worse company I have ever delta with when it comes to a phone companies. There is no customer service unless they sell you a phone. They will promise to do something and lie about it after. The Phone service placed me on hold with Spanish for an hour, they don't want to deal with you if their is an issue. So I called back then say there is nothing they can do. They have no interest in keeping their customers happy. So please I know they are cheap, but save yourself the stress and go to another company where their customers DO matter. After all the people are the ones that keep them in business. I told my friends that have MetroPCS my problem and they switch to other companies. They were amazed as I was, that they truly don't care and will no nothing.

TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted on: January 7th, 2012 by Jamaal Harris

This was the absolute worst phone investment I have ever made. I didnt even have them for a full week. Being 19 I was of course trying to be independent and went out spent 150 dollars for a phone and plan and I regret it. Im screwed because I cant get my refund because of something people failed to tell me that you have to return it in under 7 days of purchase with less than 60 minutes of talk time. If you depend on your phone then trust me it sucks most dropped calls, calls dont go through, and text wont go through. You would be better off buying an ipod touch and using the text free app or voxer app to talk and text. I hope this changes your mind on switching from who ever else you have to metro pcs.

Absolutely ignorant bill recycling policy!!!

Posted on: December 24th, 2011 by Mike Mosengo

Short Story....Wanted to change billing cycle three day from the 28th to the 1st.Guaranteed that paying on the 1st was no problem as there was a grace period until midnight of the first. Never paid later than 12pm of the day following the due date. NO GRACE PERIOD LIED TO AT STORE!!! Spent 30 minutes on phone w/rep and supervisor to see if I could get a billing cycle change to the 1st of each month. Here are the ONLY TWO OPTIONS should I wish to change my billing cycle forward three days;1. Let my service be DISCONNECTED for 7 days pay the $5.00 reactivation fee and set the date for the 1st. 2. KILL CURRENT ACCOUNT LOSE PHONE NUMBER AND REOPEN A NEW ACCOUNT. ARGHHHH..Lose service or lose the number....Don't ask I pleaded to pay either a pro rata to reestablish the 1st as a billing date and or any other fees necessary(within reason). ANSWER: Lose service for a week or change #s. It's absolutely comical that no one can give a reasonable answer as to why this policy is the way it is nor is there anyone that can over ride a situation like this....UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Terrible reception, bad customer support

Posted on: December 20th, 2011 by Anonymous

Make no mistake, this is not a good deal. I live in the city of New York and experience problems with delayed voicemails, calls being dropped and worst - only a few of their stores are full-service stores, the rest are there to sell to you and collect monthly payments, not to deal with any problems. Their customer service is not available unless you have paid up all their charges. As for their phones, do a web search or go to Best Buy, you will get much better deals! MetroPCS phone rebates are a joke, they do not happen in a hurry.

metro pcs worst phone company EVER!

Posted on: November 19th, 2011 by Anonymous

Seriously, getting my self a MetroPCS plan is the worst decision I ever made! 1. bad signal. I went to BigBear one time, and even a bar of signal on my phone won't reach it! 2. txt fail. My phone said it was sent, but the recipient of the txt did not really receive it. fail communication! 3. by the minute. I was all convinced to change my plan to by the minute cards so i could save more. but honestly, I went to all Walmart in my area and they don't have it! It does not exist!!!

Cost effective

Posted on: October 17th, 2010 by Anonymous

The good: -Unlimited service & features at $40. per month -CoverageThe bad: -Phone calls are not always the clearest-Basic internet surfing, no HTML $40. plan -Where my old service would work Metropcs don't -Slow expansion of cellular coverageSummary: Metropcs is on a great start, the phones are decent quality and feature rich. If Metropcs is in your area for the cost of a phone and no contract it's well worth it. Just keep in mind if you travel use their helpful coverage map to find out where coverage is what features are available and where future coverage is expected.
