Can't get service

Posted on: August 23rd, 2006 by P HENRY

The good: Best prices on Prepaid plansThe bad: I lose signal as soon as I get out of the city limits and I don't have service in surrounding areas.Summary: Cingular has the best prepaid plan but the service just isn't that great. The ads are always saying that they have the least dropped calls but that is not true according to my friends.

I'm satisfied

Posted on: August 23rd, 2006 by Terri McKay

The good: Coverage seems better than most. Usage can be checked online. Lots of plans to choose from. The bad: Cingular stores always seem to be busy. There are small areas of no signal.Summary: Overall, I'm very satisfied. I especially like the roll-over minutes feature of my plan. Customer service has always been helpful and friendly. I have better coverage than most of my friends on other plans. I did like the older phones better. The newer phones offered seem to be cheaper made. I would recommend this carrier to anyone.

Overpriced for what you get

Posted on: August 23rd, 2006 by Eleanor Konzman

The good: I get service in like the most remote weird places and you get rollover minutes. The bad: No signal in the subway or in general urban areas you would expect network! Its very expensive.Summary: Cingular is super expensive. I only have it because I get network at my parents mountain house for some strange reason and no other carrier has that. They charge you to call your voicemail. They have no unlimited or affordable good offers on text and multimedia messaging. Every month my bill is huge. The rollover points is a fraud, because after one year, they delete all your rollover minutes and dont tell you. So whats the point of saving them?? Cingular is just too expensive, network sucks a lot in the DC area too and there is no network in big buildings or on the metro system.

Cingular is good

Posted on: August 23rd, 2006 by Anonymous

The good: The pros of Cingular is that there are little or no dropped calls. They have service every where and have bunch of anytime minutes. Also all of my friends have it.The bad: The cons of Cingular are that the Motorola RAZR has many dropped calls (that might not be Cingular it might just be the razor phone)Summary: Cingular wireless has great service and lots of people have it so it is free to call them. So if you want a great plan family or not, get Cingular.

Posted on: August 23rd, 2006 by sara Lazdan

The good: Cheap family planMany airtime minutesFree nights and weekendsFree long distanceFree roamingFree calls within the networkThe bad: Unreliable connectionsCan't use it at home because of no coverage in my areaSummary: Well, overall I would recommend it, because of value. Quality of service is no better than any other carrier. But more bangs for a buck.

carrier

Posted on: August 23rd, 2006 by C T Trany

The good: more phone selectionThe bad: bad reception in DanvilleSummary: Ever since the carrier switch to the new sims card, I have more dropped call in Danville. Also, the phone can no longer be placed in my bedroom, because if I turn on the TV or radio, there will be loud static sounds

Mostly good coverage, terrible customer service

Posted on: August 23rd, 2006 by Mimi Hua

The good: Kiosks and offices everywhereDecent reception in most placesBetter website now that they redid itThe bad: Poor customer serviceLimited number of plansSummary: Like all cell phone service providers, they have terrible customer service. I only had one experience talking with a rep where the person was really good. Normally they sound like they couldn't care less and make a lot of mistakes. My service coverage seems to be pretty comprehensive though. Recently moved and reception there is poor, but otherwise it has been good. I wish they had more plans for me to choose from though. Decent value overall.

Poor Reception

Posted on: August 23rd, 2006 by krystle hinshaw

The good: There are not many pros to using cingular wireless in my area. My husband and I both use cingular wireless and the only pro we can think of when using this service is that when in the right spot, it will actually work! The bad: There are many cons to using cingular wireless in my area. I receive very poor reception in most areas of my home. My husband and I almost always have to walk outside of our home to recieve more than two bars of service. Summary: I would not recomend using cingular wireless. They claim their coverage area is large, but I have yet to experience coverage in many areas of my own home! It is even difficult to use my service on the highways, during trips and often times I am required to stop at a payphone because my reception is so low! If you are in the market for a cell phone carrier, I would look somewhere else first!

Family Plan

Posted on: August 23rd, 2006 by Lynnmarie Doherty

The good: There are many plans too choose from. The family plan seems to be the best when it comes to more than 2 users. Lets you talk to each other or any other person using same service for free. fast customer service connects alsoThe bad: There do seem to be many"dead" spots, and I have a tower close by. Downside is that free nights do not start until 9 p.m.Summary: Have been with another company prior to this and I have found that cingular seems to act faster to my requests/questions. Also the website is very easy to check on, all you need to know is your account number. I Like the family plan/shared minutes.
