The upgrade to Android 11 isn't the only big software update that Google is sending out this week.
Google is releasing a new Wear OS update for smartwatches that brings performance and battery improvements. Specifically, Google says that it's "improved Wear OS from top to bottom" and made app launch and boot time 20% faster.
Also included are changes to device controls that should make it easier to manage different watch modes and workouts.
Better battery life is another big part of this new Wear OS update. Google says that you'll now be able to "do more throughout your day and enjoy a longer battery life on your smartwatch."
Lastly, Google is improving the process of pairing a new Wear OS smartwatch to your phone. "Setting up your Wear OS smartwatch has never been speedier!" says Google, touting enhancements its made that will help you use your new smartwatch "more reliably".
This new Wear OS update will be available first on the Suunto 7 smartwatch and will roll out to more devices in the coming months.
