Motorola's Moto G line of devices has always focused on offering solid devices at affordable price points. The latest member of the Moto G family continues that by bringing 5G connectivity to more price-conscious consumers.
The Moto G 5G Plus is meant to bring 5G to more people. It's packing a Snapdragon 765 processor with built-in 5G support, and Motorola has given it a 5000mAh battery to help keep you connected to 5G and downloading games, movies, and apps for longer.
The back of the new Moto G 5G Plus is home to a quad camera setup that includes a 48MP main sensor with Quad Pixel tech and 4x light sensitivity to get you better photos in low light situations. There's an 8MP ultra wide cam with 118-degree field of view for group photos, too, plus a 5MP macro camera for close-ups and a 2MP depth camera.
Around front there are two more snappers, including a 16MP ultra wide camera and 8MP main cam. Both live in a hole-punch in the upper left corner of the Moto G 5G Plus's display, which is a 6.7-inch 2520x1080 screen with HDR10 support and 90Hz refresh rate.
Inside the Moto G 5G Plus's water repellent body is 4GB or 6GB of RAM, 64GB or 128GB of built-in storage, and a microSD card slot that'll let you add up to 1TB of additional storage. There's a fingerprint reader on the side of the device and face unlock support so you can choose whichever security method you prefer.
Motorola has equipped the Moto G 5G Plus with a 3.5mm headphone jack as well as a USB-C port for charging. NFC is in there, too, as well as dual SIM slots.
The Moto G 5G Plus will launch in Europe tomorrow, July 8, with pricing starting at €349 ($394 USD) for the 4GB/64GB model and going up to €399 ($451 USD) for the 6GB/128GB model. The phone will also launch in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and other markets in the near future.
For folks in North America looking for a more affordable 5G phone, Motorola says it's planning to launch a sub-$500 5G device in North America in the fall.
