LG Velvet revealed in new video

The LG Velvet is shaping up to be a big deal for the company. LG says that this is the start of a new product roadmap and that the Velvet has a new "minimalistic" design language, and today we get to see that design in full.

LG has dropped a new video that shows the Velvet in full. That triple rear camera array in a "Raindrop" design is there, with the main cam protruding from the body of the phone while the other two sit below the main camera and below the glass.

Both the front and back of the LG Velvet are curved, which LG calls its 3D Arc Design, and the company says that that'll help the phone feel more natural in your hand.

The video also shows that the LG Velvet will have slim bezels around the display and a waterdrop notch at the top of the screen for the selfie camera. There appears to be a USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom of the phone. We see four color options, too, including white, black, green, and a sunrise glow color.

Lastly, the video confirms that the LG Velvet will be powered by a Snapdragon 765 processor.

This is our first full look at the LG Velvet, so we don't know how it feels in hand, but so far this new design looks pretty sharp. The Raindrop camera setup is attractive and doesn't have a huge camera housing and the colors seem to give off a bit of a glow, especially the red-orange hue.

Some might be turned off by the inclusion of the Snapdragon 765 instead of an 865, but it's no slouch and it does include 5G. By opting for the 765, LG could be helping to keep the price down compared to some of the other flagships we've seen launch recently with the 865.

What do you think of the LG Velvet so far?
