Huawei Watch GT 2e is a sporty smartwatch with up to 2 weeks of battery life

Huawei is a regular in the smartwatch space, putting out new smartwatches like the Watch 2 and the Watch GT 2 in recent years. Today it took the wraps off of its newest wearable device.

Huawei is touting its new Watch GT 2e as being "perfect for those who have an active lifestyle." The company touts that the Huawei Watch GT 2e can last for up to 2 weeks with typical use, which includes wearing it 24 hours per day, heart rate monitoring and sleep tracking, and workouts.

The display on Huawei's new Watch GT 2e is a round 1.39-inch 454x454 AMOLED touchscreen that offers slide and touch gestures. There are physical power and function buttons on the device, and Huawei says that the case features water resistance up to 50 meters

The Huawei Watch GT 2e has a fitness focus, offering 100 workout modes including climbing, outdoor and indoor running, rowing machine, cycling, hiking, and more. There's a Recovery Time mode to help you determine how much time your body needs to recover after a workout, and even things like a VO2Max feature that'll measure the maximum rate of oxygen consumption measured per unit of time over the course of a workout.

Huawei also offers to track your sleep with its TruSleep 2.0 feature that'll monitor your heart rate and analyze your breathing while your snoozing, and there's also measurements for blood oxygen saturation and a TruRelax mode to give you breathing training to release stress.

The hardware features of the Huawei Watch GT 2e include Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, an optical heart rate sensor, an ambient light sensor, a gryoscope, and an accelerometer. There's also 4GB of storage that'll let you save up to 500 songs on your watch.

The case of Huawei's new Watch GT 2e is made of plastic and stainless steel, and you can get the watch with sporty fluoroelastomer and TPU straps. Charging is done with the including magnetic charger.

Huawei says the Watch GT 2e is compatible with iPhones running iOS 9.0 or higher as well as phones with Android 4.4 or later.

Expect to see the Huawei Watch GT 2e launch in April at a price of €199 ($220 USD).
