Samsung Galaxy S20+ leaks continue as more camera details come out

One of the most interesting aspects of those leaked Galaxy S20+ photos is the rear camera array, which includes four sensors in a rectangular bump. Now some details on the cameras inside that bump have leaked out.

As expected, the main camera on the Galaxy S20+ is expected to be a 12MP 1.8μm snapper. A report from XDA-Developers adds that it'll be a Sony IMX 555 sensor. There's a 48MP camera with Samsung ISOCELL S5KGW2 sensor, too, and a third cam with a Samsung ISOCELL S5K2LA sensor. The details on the fourth camera are still light.

One of those rear cameras is said to be a telephoto cam with a 3x optical zoom and 30x total zoom.

And then there's the selfie camera that lives inside the Infinity O hole-punch on the front of the Galaxy S20+. This is expected to be the same 10MP camera found on the Galaxy S10 and Note 10.

Today's report contains a few other details on the Galaxy S20+'s video capabilities. The new Samsung flagship will reportedly be capable of 8K video capture at 30fps as well as 4K video recording at 60fps with video stabilization. That 4K video capture will be available on both the front and rear cameras. Finally, Samsung will include the zoom-in mic feature from the Note 10 that makes it so when you zoom in the video, the audio zooms in to focus at the same time.

One of the special camera features that Samsung is adding to the Galaxy S20+ is called Smart Selfie Angle. When enabled, the front-facing camera will automatically switch to a wide angle mode when it detects that there are more than two people in the frame.

Also coming to the Galaxy S20+ is a Single Take mode that'll let you pan your phone around and have it automatically take photos and videos as you do it. Once you're done, the phone will recommend the best photos and videos that it took while you were moving the device around.

Finally, today's report mentions that a Pro Video mode will be included that will let you use pro mode settings will recording video.

Samsung has always placed a big focus on camera performance with its Galaxy flagships, and it's looking like the Galaxy S20 series will be no different. It's rumored that the Galaxy S20 Ultra will include a whopping 108MP camera, and while that one is sure to get a lot of attention, we're sure that the cameras on this Galaxy S20+ and the standard Galaxy S20 will be solid too.
