Hulu adds Downloads to its app for offline watching

Hulu is adding a major new feature to its mobile apps.

Hulu today added download support to its iOS app. With it, you can download up to 25 shows across five different devices for watching when you don't have an internet connection. You'll have up to 30 days to watch your downloaded content, and Hulu says that your watched content will expire two days after you start playing it. There's also a dedicated Downloads tab in the Hulu app so that you'll have quick access to your saved shows.

The new Downloads feature is available on the Hulu (No Ads) plan, which is priced at $11.99 per month.

Hulu says that this download feature is coming soon to Android.

Support for downloads is a great feature for a streaming app to have, letting you listen or watch content even if you're somewhere with slow, limited, or no internet. Hulu is one of the most popular streaming services around, and so it's great to see the service add downloads for those times when you can't just stream your shows, like if you're on an airplane.
