Android 10 now rolling out to OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7

OnePlus 7 Pro and 7 owners, OnePlus has a nice weekend surprise for you.

OnePlus is now rolling out OxygenOS 10.0, based on Android 10, to its OnePlus 7 series phones. The update is a staged rollout, meaning only a limited number of users will get it today. After a few days go by and OnePlus has confirmed that everything is working smoothly, it'll begin a broader rollout.

As for what's included in the update, there's a bump to Android 10 along with a new UI design and full screen gestures, like inward swipes from the left or right edge of the screen that'll let you go back. There are improvements to Game Space, Smart Display, and messaging, too.

Here's the full changelog from OnePlus:

System

  • Upgraded to Android 10
  • Brand new UI design
  • Enhanced location permissions for privacy
  • New customization feature in Settings allowing you to choose icon shapes to be displayed in the Quick Settings

Full Screen Gestures

  • Added inward swipes from the left or right edge of the screen to go back
  • Added a bottom navigation bar to allow switching left or right for recent apps

Game Space

  • New Game Space feature now joins all your favorite games in one place for easier access and better gaming experience

Smart display

  • Intelligent info based on specific times, locations and events for Ambient Display (Settings - Display - Ambient Display - Smart Display)

Message

  • Now possible to block spam by keywords for Message (Messages - Spam - Settings -Blocking settings)

We haven't seen many smartphones outside of Google's Pixels get an update to Android 10 yet, so it's exciting to see the OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 get their update just a couple of weeks after Android 10 launched.
