Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 is in the works, leaked photos show

We're just a few months out from the launch of the Galaxy Watch Active, but details of Samsung's follow-up smartwatch have leaked out.

Photos of the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 have leaked out. The design looks similar to the original Galaxy Watch Active, but as SamMobile notes, there are some small changes to the new model. The Back button has a rectangular shape and the home/power button is round with a red circle. Around back there's a circular rim around the heart rate sensor.

Today's report also says that the Galaxy Watch Active 2 will come in Wi-Fi-only and LTE variants. The former is expected to pack a 237mAh battery, while the latter will reportedly have a larger 340mAh battery. The Galaxy Watch Active 2 is expected to be offered in 40mm and 44mm sizes.

The software will be One UI version 1.5, up from version 1.0 on Samsung's current smartwatches, which means the Galaxy Watch Active 2 could have some new software features packed in.

One feature that's not expected to be included with the Galaxy Watch Active 2 is a rotating bezel ring, which is also missing from the original Galaxy Watch Active.

There's no word yet on when Samsung might introduce the Galaxy Watch Active 2. Considering that the first Galaxy Watch Active was announced just four months ago, though, it could be a little while before this new version is released.
